The Chinmaya Vidyalaya has for its emblem, the lamp and the
‘Hamsa’ bird. In the light of Scriptures (represented by the lamp)
the discriminative power of the human intellect is to be developed
(represented by the Hamsa bird). Vedic tradition describes Hamsa
as a bird that can drink milk alone from a mixture of milk and water.
The human intellect with its discriminative power must be able to
discriminate between Spirit and Matter and must come to enjoy
the Spiritual Essence in the world of names and forms. Thus the
emblem indicates that the function of the Mission is to help people
in developing ethical values and cultivating in them a discriminative
intellect.
Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda blessed the Chinmaya
Vidyalayas with the motto ‘KEEP SMILING’. Chinmaya
International Vidyalaya prepares children with an inner
equipoise to enable them to face life with a smile. The
Chinmaya family greets everyone with a ‘HARI OM’
coupled with a namaste and a smile, devoting humility,
respect, love and joy in meeting others.

My greetings and best wishes to you all on this New Academic year.
Education is truly measured by the extent of transformation that it brings in us. An all-encompassing vision, ennobling attitudes and the quality of our actions reflect the transformation that education has effected. Gurudev’s famous line reads, “Through individual transformation alone can world transformation be achieved.” Let our education methodology effectively bring in this transformation.
Chinmaya Vidyalayas are called ‘Schools with a Difference’. Through your attitude, your service and achievements this year, show the difference that this wonderful Chinmaya Culture has brought in each one of you.

The Chinmaya Education Movement is one of the most significant contributions of Chinmaya Mission to the society. Nearing 50 years of establishment, growth and expansion, the Chinmaya Mission’s academic institutions in India, administered by the CCMT (Central Chinmaya Mission Trust) Education Cell have seen over one million students walk through their halls and graduate through their doors.

All the schools under the Chinmaya umbrella keep the lofty vision on education- Education with a Vision, alive through implementation of Chinmaya Vision Programme (CVP). Our mission statement is based on CVP, the vision inducing educational programme that offers the children value based and holistic education, which paves way for Integrated Development of the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual aspects of the personality and is enriched by the knowledge of Indian culture and enhanced by Patriotism and Universal Outlook. It aims at giving children a true vision of life to help them face challenges in a positive and dynamic manner and heartily contribute to society and the world at large.
The child is the focal point of this programme. The programme also embraces the school, management, teachers and parents. Through them, the light of this vision spreads to the society, country and world at large.
The Chinmaya Vision Programme is a comprehensive educational strategy that can be identified under four heads.
It aims at overall development and gentle blossoming of the child at the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual levels of his/her personality.
The child is given a wide exposure to the various aspects of our rich culture- cultural awareness and appreciation of vast literacy.
Patriotism is inculcated in children with the aim of creating dedicated and committed citizens who take real pride in serving the nation.
Universal outlook refers to an appreciation, sensitivity and commitment to universal issues. The universal outlook helps the child view.
